Our story

Built in Kalamazoo

A member training on the Test Gym floor in Kalamazoo, Michigan

What makes Test Gym different

Proven programming, strength and conditioning trained together, coaching that actually matters, and a class built to scale for every level — that's the whole approach, and it hasn't changed since day one.

Test Gym is a coached CrossFit, HYROX and bodybuilding gym on West Michigan Avenue in downtown Kalamazoo. Four things make the program work.

Proven programming. Every workout is structured for progress — not random — so you consistently improve in strength, conditioning, and skill.

Strength and conditioning together. You’ll build real strength while improving endurance, work capacity, and overall athleticism, in the same program instead of two separate ones.

Coaching that matters. Every class is fully coached — from warm-up to finish — with real guidance, cues, and adjustments, not a whiteboard and a shrug.

Scalable for every level. Whether you’ve never touched a barbell or you’re chasing a competition podium, the workout meets you where you are.

And it’s a Kalamazoo gym on purpose — West Michigan Avenue, same faces at Friday classes. Come be one of them.

Natalie came to yoga through injury recovery, and that experience still shapes how she teaches today. She knows what it's like to need a practice that meets you where you are, not where you think you should be. Her classes blend strength-building flows with mobility work that keeps hard-training members moving well outside the gym.

Susie grew up a competitive gymnast before finding CrossFit, and that background shows in every class — few coaches break down a kipping pull-up or a handstand progression as clearly as she can. She's coached members from their first workout to their first competition podium, and loves both ends of that journey equally.

Jennifer believes nutrition coaching should never feel like a diet — it should feel like building a skill. After years of watching members crush workouts but stall on results because nutrition wasn't dialed in, she made it her mission to close that gap with behavior-change coaching that fits real, busy lives.
